Tea Infuser Mugs

A tea infuser mug is a great way to make a single cup of superb tasting tea ffrom loose leaves.

There are several kinds of infuser mug available, from the fully integrated, to the retro-fit, drop-in infusers that you can use with just about any mug big enough to fit the infuser into. There are even some thermal infuser mugs on the market if you work outside often and need a proper cup of tea.

Personally I would always go with an earthenware mug, to keep the heat in, and I love the weight of a good solid mug, but glass and clear plastic mugs are a great and stylish option too, allowing you to judge the strength of your brew perfectly.

If you already have a favourite mug then there are plenty of seperate drop-in infusers on the market. Be sure to measure up to make sure you get the biggest one you can that still fits in your mug, this will give the leaves room to unfurl and release all their flavour.

Drop-in tea mug infusers are simialr to infuser balls in that they normally come in either mesh or perforated stainless steel varities. The perforated type are stronger and much easier to clean, but if you are using small leaves you may find that you end up with leaves in your mug after the infuser is removed.
